ESPARGARO’ IMPROVES HIS LAP TIMES IN THE SECOND DAY OF TESTING AT SEPANGESPARGARO’ MIGLIORA NELLA SECONDA GIORNATA DI TEST A SEPANG
Second day of testing has concluded for the Pramac Racing Team on the Sepang circuit, Malaysia. Riders Aleix Espargarò and Mika Kallio have chosen different methods of work and this has reflected on the final result. The Catalan rider, Espargarò, was concentrated in finding the best feeling with the Ducati Sat to significantly improve yesterday best lap times concluding with the ninth best time of this first 2010 winter test. His teammate, Kallio, concentrated on modifying its bike but things didn’t go too well and he couldn’t manage to improve and concluded in seventeenth position. The Pramac Racing duo will return on track on February 25th in Sepang.
Aleix Espargaro: “Yesterday we have tried to find a constant pace while today we focused looking for the fast lap. It wasn’t so bad; on the contrary, I am really pleased on how things have gone. This is only my first winter test in MotoGP and I can only improve in the future. The arm on which I had surgery on this past winter doesn’t hurt anymore and my physical condition, notwithstanding the heat of these days, seems to be in good conditions. I look forward to come back on track at the end of the month here in Malaysia.”
Mika Kallio: “Likely this was just a winter test. We tried many changes on the bike set up, but we had some difficulties to improve the situation and for this reason we lost a lot of time working on our bikes in the garage. We will have to give our best in the next test so that things can change. We are too far from the firsts and our goal is to remain consistently between top 10 riders in every single session.”
È terminata la seconda giornata di test per il Pramac Racing Team sul circuito di Sepang, Malesia. I piloti, Aleix Espargarò e Mika Kallio, hanno scelto metodi di lavori differenti e questo ha riflesso sul risultato finale. Il pilota catalano, Espargarò, si è concentrato alla ricerca del miglior feeling con la propria Ducati Sat riuscendo a migliorare sensibilmente il tempo registrato ieri ottenendo il nono miglior tempo di questi primi test invernali del 2010. Il suo compagno di squadra, Kallio, che si è concentrato sulla messa a punto della propria moto, non è invece riuscito a migliorarsi terminando al diciassettesimo posto odierno. Il duo del Pramac Racing tornerà in pista a Sepang il 25 febbraio.
Aleix Espargarò: “Ieri abbiamo cercato di trovare un ritmo costante per più giri mentre oggi ci siamo concentrati alla ricerca del giro veloce. Non è andata male, anzi, posso ritenermi davvero soddisfatto di come sono andate le cose. Questo è solo il mio primo test invernale in MotoGP e penso si possa solo migliorare. Il braccio operato quest’inverno non mi fa più male ma, anzi, mi sento davvero bene fisicamente nonostante il grande caldo di questi giorni e non vedo l’ora di tornare in pista a fine mese sempre qui in Malesia.”
Mika Kallio: “Meno male che questi erano solo dei test. Abbiamo provato molte modifiche di set up, ma la situazione faticava a migliorare e cosi abbiamo perso molto tempo ai box lavorando sulle nostre moto. Dovremo concentrarci al meglio nei prossimi test per far si che le cose cambino. Siamo troppo lontano dai primi e il nostro obiettivo è di rimanere costantemente tra i primi dieci piloti in ogni sessione.”
